My VB is exhibiting the symptoms in https://www.vortexbox.org/forum/support ... ng-through
Don't need this - rather pissed off about it really,
As the underlying h/w is Innuos, they've agreed to update it for free to their own server s/w, but I may lose some functionality - as SWMBO is a linguist, foreign language internet radio is a must, as are YouTube playlists & Spotify...

Yep - because it's an Innuos server with OEM VB running - it's stuck on 2.3.
Upgrading to 2.4 is increasingly looking like the only viable option, and it's a MAJOR PAIN as it's a disk-wipe-and-clean-install job.

I'm tempted to hold off hitting the 'VB Upgrade' button for now, ta for the heads up.

Took a couple of hours but now sorted.
Needed to log into an SSH session as root, set up a genuine and complete Fedora FC20 yum repo, uninstall perl (which also uninstalls Vortexbox, nginx and some other bits), upgrade Fedora, then install perl 5.18.4, then reinstall Vortexbox and it's various hangers on, then reinstall all the LMS stuff (latest version though) including plugins like Spotify and YouTube plus their API keys, then mark nginx as an autostart service... Etc.
So now have fully patched Fedora FC20 installation with latest security patches, fully patched Vortexbox 2.3, latest LMS, also fully patched... All music still there also most original settings retained...

Now I know why vinyl’s coming back.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Yep. It wasn't obvious. I now know more about VB than I ever wanted to - as far as I know, i'm the only person who has fixed this issue without a clean install (which means re-installing all your music).
Anyway, back to normal now.

Learning Greek might be easier.

Nah. My wife speaks/reads/writes Greek (and Arabic) and, believe me, they are tough languages.
