Here's a nice app for Mac OSX, for if you simply want to manage the music in your iTunes library without having to deal with all the other paraphernalia that iTunes has accumulated over the years.
It does auto sample rate switching and supports FLAC.
As a purely music management app, it does exactly what it says on the tin and has great sound quality too.
It is also fast, smooth in operation and has a clean, intuitive interface.

I have the thirty day trial, after which it costs £13.58

Here's a screenshot of Swinsian in action:
The sound is excellent, the app has behaved impeccably and unlike most of the other players on the Mac
it interfaces perfectly with the iTunes Music folder and has no artwork/tagging issues; well I have not noticed any yet.
The only thing it lacks is a remote app for iPad/iPhone, but that does not bother me personally.
It does however respond to the apple handheld remote.
