Has anyone tried this TDA thingy? I came across it on the Tannoy forum where some poster has tried a number of Class D/ T amp things and much prefers the TDA.

I can't believe they go so cheap. The chip alone from Farnell is about the whole price of the amp on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1pc-AC-DC-12V ... 33862160dd

Seems ridiculously cheap!

Unless they really REALLY buy them in bulk :shock:

AND the PCB's.

I think we've covered this subject elsewhere , but briefly they are worth buying and modifying . The bass in particular is very nice if you increase the input cap size significantly . I'm still not excited about the top-end, but there are more mods I could do .
