I agree you don't seem to get much for your money, but they are well made and use decent components, sound good too.
Yeah, that pot would go in the bin.
Ok, might not be audable at 1k and under, but pots are bad IMO.

Firt, i thought it was all just about more power which im guessing i dont need. Second, i HATE people putting the word 'turbo' on stuff (unless its turbocharged). I guess its ironic, but i thought that died out in the 90's.
Almost as bad as putting 'i' in front of everything since the ipods popularity.
I agree entirely, I think however so does Nelson, check out the opening title inside the F5-Turbo article, either he's stuck in the 80's or being quite humorous.

even if you don't build it you might learn something new about a gallon of petrol.

I don't think either the F4 or an F5 sounds as good as a valve amp from the midrange upwards. They get closer than most SS though .

It's in the PDF: Quote: "A gallon of gasoline holds about 36 Kilowatt Hours of energy"

Anyway, that PDF describes output powers up to 600W. How much power do you need?

Ah, i see.

How much power do i need?
Dunno, but my kel84 cant be putting out more than 10w per channel and thats fine. Dont know what power i'd need from a bass amp when bi-amping but i figured the 25w of F5 would be fine.

You could do this test http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-wa ... -need.html and find out exactly.

How efficient are your speakers?

I was surprised at my test results, built a 1 watt amplifier and filled the room at Owston with it (about 15m x 10m). My speakers are 98dB at 1W and that tends to help.

Get James on-board for the marketing, he has always been a fan.
My audio buddy Len has loaned mine to use on the Klipsch LaScalas and likes them very much .
