Do you subscribe then Phil?

I used to get Glass Audio but soon cancelled my subs when it became Audioexpress as I wasn't really interested in the other stuff at that time and you could geta worthwhile article about valve stuff about once every two years out of them.

Basically there isn't really anything new in the valve world worth writing about.

How do you find it?

Hi Paul-no i don't subscribe.

I have been sortof interested in hybrid amps for some time and today i was Googling for info and i came upon part 2 of the article.

It took me a bit longer to find part 1 but now i have both and when i get some new ink cartridges for my "cheap" Canon PIXMA MP150 (what a con-2 cartridges nearly as much as the printer cost) i will print them off and study extensively.Black 40 and colour 41 if anyone has any suggestions.

no real need though, you might aswell build what Nic and ed and such are building with a valve preamp. There you go, hybrid. Easy.

too true, for if this Hongker Zen or any other mossyfet job gets out of the house, I too will have a valve stage as a pre or buffer - for aesthetics as much as anything else I hope will improve the sound.

We'll see!

Hi-so with a valve preamp (Pre3 or another i have) do i only need the mosfet bit (ie part 1 of the article i found).

Did anyone ever make the Maplin 50W mosfet modules, they were supposed to sound "valve like" !

I have just realised that I was using "hybrid" amps years ago when the pre section of the QED A240cd amp worked with the Quad 11s.

Today my number 2 valve pre has lost one channel so once again, the QED is working the Quads this time in my "study" system !
