According to this topic....

Electronics Point - Source /Sub for SV-3a Diode

... SV-3A has a forward drop of 1.2V, so is equivalent to two diodes in series, not three. He says 2 x 1N2002 in series did the job. :?:

Could be at Pioneer someone spent some time finding out what happens when it all heats up, hence the addition of the thermistor to add "fine tuning"

Well I have completed the full Recap on the pioneer SA500s Power amp
C1/2/4/6 3.3uF Nichicon MUSE BP-P 3.3uF
C7/8 47uf Black Gate STDs
C9/10 22uf Oscon SC
C13/14 100uf Nichicon Muse ES
C15/16 1000uf Panasonic FC bypassed with 0.1uf MKT Film
The Biggest improvements were replacing C1/2/3/4 with the MUSE BP-P 3.3uF bi-polar which seems to give more space around instruments and a more life like tone to female vocals giving a very strong sense of the live venues sound magical with the right live vinyl recordings there is hint of treble harshness at times on some recordings but hopefully it will settle l down with some burn in time :D

Next up is the power supply before trying a regulated PSU I think I will try Hexfred Diodes and double the Cap value to 2000uf with two 1000uf BHC Split Foil Cap in CRC or CLC??
