PM your address then Phil. So i can send em to you.
If anyone else wants some, they are mostly above 1meg and not the usual values i'm likely to use in my stuff. They came from a radio repair bloke.

Much to learn there is.

As I seem to be in a parcel delivery "no go" zone today I have dug out the mos-fets to fit the 10 turn pots for the bias adjustment.
Certainly a bit easier to get an accurate 12V now !
Playing them on VoFos at the moment to re-acquaint myself with the sound.
Edit.- just got my power resistors for the 829b PSU bleeders from RS so can get on a bit more.

Sorry Al-I had to get some bits from HFC for the 829b project so I've added a couple of Takman resistors for the mos-fet.al newall wrote:PM your address then Phil. So i can send em to you.
Thanks again for the offer.

No problem Phil.
They only got posted today(they've been forgotten about in the wifes car for a few days), so just add them to your collection,
when they arrive.
So profuse apologies for holding you up.

My nice pink Takmans came this morning and have now been fitted.
Will give it a while to run in but the initial feeling is good.
Lets hope "transistor ear" can be eliminated !

Yes that's the close up and personal version.

quote.... 'Tho expert opinion reckons you'd get a better effect with an iPod and miniature headphones turned up loud.'
and then you're going to need a 'transistor ear'!
nowadays they are 'digital' oooooerrrrrr, but you'll still be deaf.
(can you tell I'm in a grumpy mood this afternoon - beautiful weather though?)

Can one use a bleeder resistor across the first cap on my mos-fets ?
Just to deplete the caps after turning off. 220K OK ?

To put the question another way.
How much current should I bleed ? Will 1ma be enough-I can then work out a resistor value (something in the region of 20K ohms)
