I'm looking to Trial a Copper Foil Capacitor on a circuit.
It can be from 0.47uf - 1.5uf 400V or above.
As it is for a trial, the Cap's can have lot of use under their belt.
What have you ?
If a pair can be loaned, I will be more than Happy to pay return postage and Buy a Pint for anybody who offers a help.

There must be somebody out there with a Pair of Copper Caps they have fell put of love with.

I suspect most of us out here are sitting happily on our stashes of copper foil caps !
Having said that I did have some Audyn blue ones around 0.47u or 0.68u that I felt were not quite as transparent as the Mundorf Zinc ones. Let me have a look later this afternoon.

Of course I can find ONE. This has been a feature of anything I went looking for, recently.
0.68u/630v Audyn True copper.
Bear with me, the other one ought to be somewhere and I don't think it's in the main system currently.

Good'o, I will sit tight awaiting the outcome of the search.

OK, I was wrong, it was in the main system ... however only making up a value on the tweeter crossover until I got the right Mundorf cap - which I now have - so I have released this one and put the other 2.7uF cap in there.

If they are anything like the Audionote ones that Nick took out of my Audionote copy pre amp then good luck to you.

They would be ok as long as the following resistor was small enough to stop the leakage building up a voltage.

If I have one of my Jensen copper out of the circuit I'll check those for resistance, out of interest. However I've never noticed anything untoward with those. Audio Note had earlier problems with leakage of oil from their caps, didn't they ?

With the Audyns now on the way to me, there will be three brands to assess in a device being produced, 0.47, 0.68 and 1.0uf.
Even though 1.0 is the preferred value, it will be interestig to assess the Sonic Signature of the Brands.
Any observations that others have picked up on different brands Copper Foils as for their influence on a SQ will be of interest, if it is shared.

But if each brand is a different value it won't really be a truly meaningful comparison as the different values will change the operating point of the circuit.

Copper foil caps are typically only of a value suitable for coupling caps, so they won't change the operating point of the driver or the output valve.
The value will affect the bass roll-off point, that needs to be borne in mind when listening.
