Artie Shaw - Nightmare
courtesy of Paradise Radio.....wow, atmospheric, could almost see Philip Marlowe with his collar pulled up and hat pulled forward, walking through the driving rain with street lights reflecting off the wet pavement.....don' it make ya shiver!

Don't have any Arty Shaw

Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Sounds like someone who needs a Jazz Clarinet concerto.
Meanwhile, just playing something STRAIGHT from the US : I haven't played this recently and it sounds much better than before, on the OB.
Bellerin Plain is really a great track.
Petrified Forest too.
Doctor Dark is growing on me.
Lots to enjoy, love all the marimba.

Listening now to The Platters Greatest Hits.
Why is it that those of us over a certain age can't listen to "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" without singing

don't want to put out any spoilers but...
2 half sets, 1 hour and 1 and a half hours...phwoarrrrrr
they played a lot from safe as milk to mark the 50th anniversary....you might not, but it certainly made me feel a bit fragile, 50 years!!!! what happened!!!
they did diddy wah diddy and I thought most of the band weren't born when that came out.....they were awesome!
If these guys enjoyed it as much as they looked to be then I don't see why they can't carry on doing it, they don't need JF to whip them into it....they were so capable, impossible to criticise.
first time ever live...Autumns Child...go figure...I felt privileged
never seen so many 60+s jigging, it was impossible to stand still....
oh and one of the guys is ace on the theramin, JF even had a go, saying it was the first time he'd touched one..yeah right John.....
second set he opened by JF taking the drum seat(it was fairly obvious he couldn't resist at some point) and they did a 10 minute instrumental of on tomorrow...more than awesome...
I guess you'll know what they ended with..
awesome awesome awesome you get the picture
for those that won't be lucky enough..there was stuff from:
safe as milk
strictly personal
trout mask
spotlight kid
clear spot
bat chain puller
there might have been more but memory is fuzzy, didn't get back until 4, up at 7:30 to take Seb to school....
