I thought I had Shades of Blue but I haven't. The cover art on my server is from the Dusk Fire/Shades of Blue double cd set, that's what threw me.
Have you heard any of the other Landsdowne they recorded in that period?
There's also 'Phase III' which has great stuff on, plus another two LP's, I think.
They have all recently been released as re-issue LP's, and the quality is superb - I have the Dusk Fire one.
From there, given I was also listening to a great CD English Jazz collection ( Giles Peterson-complied ) , you can try out Graham Collier ( 'Deep dark blue centre' and 'Down another road' ) and some Joe Harriot.
