Haven’t listened to this for a year or two. Very - erm - atmospheric.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Disk 3 of The Roxy Performances, there are seven disks in all. It's good stuff tho expensive to shell out in one go. Loads if takes, studio practice stuff and some wonderful performance sessions. I haven't heard all 7 disks yet so... ooooo let's see eh.

I do like the latest Jimi Hendrix release, didn't expect that.

I just can't work out whether it was supposed to be funny...

moving on, did anybody catch the Wim Wenders buena vista docu/film.....I thought it was awesome, hadn't seen it before.
I've seen it many times over the years. A wonderful film indeed. I saw the Buena Vista Social Club band play at Warwick Arts Centre. Ruben Gonzales was on piano. He was visibly moved by the audience's reaction to a solo piece he played. Also, at Womad, I managed to catch the band's bass player - Cachiato with his own band and the Afro-Caribbean All Stars. All stunning performances.
Mrs L and I have been enjoying the BBC's Latin Music USA

Bloody BBC4 ! - nothing on for weeks, then they sneak that on while I'm over at mum's - I managed to see the second half. Let's hope they repeat it some time ( not always the case ) . Glad to see some big names singing his praises there - funny comments from Gilmour explaining that Richard Wright's favourite guitarist was Jeff Beck - and getting Jeff in for the memorial service !

A real treat yesterday on a visit to Birmingham was seeing CBSO musicians playing a Brahms piano quintet at the CBSO centre. The venue is quite small with very good acoustics for a small ensemble and I was sitting just a few metres from the performers. This enabled me to hear absolutely everything played by the cellist, violinists and viola player. This to me was the highest of high fidelity. Brilliant playing and sound.

Well that is the way to hear things properly . Great stuff.

Meanwhile Jeff Beck on BBC4 again tonight :D ... only unlike last night's 1 hour 25min doc, this one is listed as a 1 hour on the TV planner and on the BBC listings :confused4: I think I'd better wait up till it starts, & set the machine to do 1 1/2 hrs.

I'm happy to say that although I only caught the least ten minutes I have actually taped the progs. I saw him once, Brixton - days of Beck, Bogart and Appice. Bogart & Appice being the bass and drums from Vanilla Fudge.

Much to learn there is.

Got the B,B&A album. Would like to find some 'UPP' too. 'Truth' is the best Rod Stewart album !
Haven't seen Jeff much live but very happy I caught the 2009 Manchester Apollo gig with the 'Ronnie Scott's' band. It was , like, totally awesome :!:
