It's a way of life Andrew .
"and the heat came by and busted me .. for smiling on a cloudy day"
'New Potato Caboose' is a gem too .
Must put it on in the car on the way to work tomorrow .

Bit quiet on this thread - a select bunch me and you !
It reminds me of the times I used to frequent the Audio Asylum 'Vinyl' section quite a lot .
I posted a thread one night that read "Let's hear it for Calypso Frelimo" ( which is an obscure 32-minute track from Miles Davis's 'Get up with it' album ). After about three days , finally, one guy from New York replied "Yo !! good call, buddy ! - I thought no-one except me liked that stuff !! "

oh but ... about three months ago I listened to the album and felt that it was being a bit indulgent to Jerry Garcia but this time I was restored into the opinion that this is, imho, condensed Dead at their best. I've got lots of their stuff, on vinyl too, and been dedicated for donkeys years.
but
pearls before swine eh! and although there are of course DeadHeads out there, we know;-) and that's okay too.
much later ... ridin' that train, high on cocaine!

Of course there are sections of it that are made up of chunks of four live concerts , faded in and out - have you seen the documentary about it ? (Classic Albums) - it's a wild album, mixed on Acid and Nitrous oxide of course !!

my kind of album!
I'll have a look for the Doc.
talking of mixes of various live concerts (and the Dead as a whole concept I would say this is essential) can anyone hear the join in the guitar solo of Crossroads - live at the Filmore? Have a listen; once heard never not heard again and apologies if this detracts form one's aesthetic appreciation of what is after all otherwise a wonderful, full on live performance!

I have it on my phone, listened to it again today. BTW, there are a lot of Dick's Picks on Spotify.
Goes without saying its great, no need to reply IMHO

I know I'm a bit behind the times here but I've only just discovered The GD thanks to a late night sesh at Owsters, Live/Dead version of St Stephen IIRC.
I've 'acquired' American Beauty. Very good. I like.
Anyone care to recommend me more, ta.

I know very little about the gigs there, I think Mark has some info on some of the best Dark Star versions though. I like the idea of having a "Shows on this day in history"
