This weekend, down the shed, I listened to 131 songs by Beck. I like that function on Squeezebox where you can tell it just to play everything by one artist.

So, it was...

Gideon Coe just played a track called 'Path through the Forest' by The Factory.
I thought - wow, this is great, maybe a modern band I can see some time. great hypnotic psychedelic sound, really interesting - like the 13th-floor elevators.
No such luck, 1968-ish UK band, original records very rare. D'Oh !

George Benson - Give Me the Night, on original vinyl.
The utimate Flat Earth album.
Rough as buggery, about as subtle as a lump hammer, AND early digital mastered at way too high a level... eeeek!
But....it boogies like crazy on side one.
Tracks off this on a later vinyl compilation sound so much better, it's unreal. It's as if by the 1990s when the greatest hits vinyl came out, the cutting engineers had got their heads around how to cut from digital masters.

Awethume gig. Stuff I'd never heard done live before like Ed said. Ho bo Chang ba and suction prints for starters.

Encores were a better than studio pounding driving version of Glider and then after the curfew.... Drumbo came out did Orange Claw Hammer, raw , dramatic, animated.

Awesome x millyuns .

It sounds fantastic. Did anyone at the gig persuade them to do another farewell tour next year ?
