I'm drawing up a shortlist of headphones to audition. These Audio Technica phones have had some good reviews (for what that is worth). Anybody heard them, got them?

They're very good for the price etc etc.
Closed back, but still enough bass.

I used to find that cheapish headphones were more revealing than listening via speakers. That may not be case now, without spending serious cash.
So something cheap will probably do me, for the occasional listening session.
I had a nice pair of Beyers but the kids borrowed them, and that was the end of them. :(

Ian, I would give serious consideration to a pair of STAX Electrostatic headphones. By far the best there is. They sound more 'natural' than all the 'conventional' cone driven headphones I have ever listened to and that includes my Sennheiser HD650 that I currently use. I really regret selling my old pair of STAX to Andrew but then they are in a good home.
