Very impressive!
The crossovers are passive line level built into the amplifiers.
Is there any SQ benefit/advantage doing it like this compared to using an active x-over?

There are many advantages to cleverly placed passive crossovers. Have you ever tried to get a 100% transparent buffer? I don't think that they exist so if I can use existing stages of amplification, I simply save that additional layer. Less interconnects, less stuff in the hifi rack.

The passive line level xover is working into a purely resistive load so the curve is very predictable. My implementation in the power amp requires a very low impedance preamp to drive the long cables and capacitive/inductive load. That is probably why the PASS B1 works better than any valve pre amp that I have tried.
