#1 Transcendent Mini Beast Build
Now then,
Our Ant's client Nigel, who I built a Rozenblit 300B OTL has now added a Mini Beast to his amplifier arsenal.
Like before, with the 300B, I'll be building it for him and he has let me chronicle the build on here.
I should be getting the kit from him before the end of the week so I'll get started on it at the weekend.
Should be interesting.

Decent amp, I’m using one at the moment, and I’ve just ordered the Pinnacle kit, be very happy if it sounds anything like Ray’s when he brought his to Owston.

Yes, that certainly was one fab amp!

It was. Still remember how good the treble sounded.

Ali, I suspect it'll sound a bit different - push/pull vs SE topology - but still veryy fine. If Wolfgang drops by he may be able to comment as I know he's experience of both.
I'm making some progress with my 6C33C SE-OTL project based on Wolfgang's development project so it'll be interesting to hear how it stacks up against my 300B SE-OTL.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Actually, I managed to do a bit yesterday and the position today is this:
Circuit board has been populated, checked and installed on its standoffs, and most of the iron and hardware has been fitted.
Transformer leads have been wired onto the tag strips.
That'll do for today.

Reminds me of a H.G. Wells story entitled 'The New Accelerator' . Did you notice anything getting singed as you moved around the workroom ?

Enough of the interior shots!
Ta dah!
Soak testing and sounding rather nice, with plenty of that SET magic.
As Ali said, it's a pretty decent amp. Lovely, smooth, detailed, big sound and lets vast quantities of music out.
Pity I have to let it go to its new owner.

I see Bruce has changed the front plate, looks good.
This amp does a lot right to my ears, and does better and deeper bass than any of my SS amps.

Aye, the front plate is better looking than the old aluminium one; a bit less bling. The eyes are drawn more to the tubes with this design. Probably saved him a few cents as well, as it's a dual layer plastic type.
