Yes I think the LM3886 circuit has way too much gain for what you want, surely its feedback loop values can be changed to reduce it?
Can the EF95 stage be changed to cathode follower?
Also DC heater supply may help with the hum. (?)

Fortunately the tx that I salvaged from the little stereo also had a 17V winding so with the valve heaters pre-wired in series was quite lucky.
Had an old regulated supply and used that for the heaters, (I had a heater board of Andrews but wouldn't qualify as being 'cheap as chips'). Hum reduced quite a bit so hopeful that with an earth lift circuit and better wiring, should be further improved.
Now just need to shoehorn all the bits into that small chassis.
Must get the bench tidied up!

Needs maybe a reel of Gaffer tape to counterbalance the highly visible can of WD40 but other than that, no prob's there, agreed.

The only way to really make sure you are top dog is to take all that stuff, plonk it on the dining table and see what the effect is.
Either you maintain your position as top dog or you need to win it back. If you fail, leave the pack and find some different followers, but next time Mark your territory better.

Well got it finished for daughter's Xmas present. With some used Mission bookshelf 760i speakers I picked up, system cost around £100.
Never got rid of that small amount of hum but doesn't sound bad at all.
Not too displeased with how it looks either.

That's good stiling.
I like the salvaged old equipment look.
I recon the best look is Josh Stippich, but considering he was already well on the way with his style by the time of VSAC 2003 he was way ahead of his time.
Steam Punk,
which is ever so close in expression, has become really popular in other areas of life. IT is surely time for some Steam Punk amplifiers. I saw on another forum someone made a lamp out of iron plumbing bits including a bulbous old school tap.
Not that your effort in style is any the less.

Can we not trace the origin of this shite dumped all over the forum and send him something back? (I refer to the spam which will hopefully be cleaned up soon).

They'll be using the TOR network to spam with, so the short answer is no.

Think "dark web"...
Bizarrely, it was actually invented by the US navy back in the mid '90s and further developed by DARPA as a method for secure US military communications...

TOR - The Onion Router.
A network that routes through loads of different computers in different parts of the world, making it virtually impossible for any originating router/ip address to be traced. The whole of the "Dark Net" runs on it.
