#1 Amp Oscillation - Sanity Check

Post by Ray P »

I'm having some problems getting my new amp project working at the moment due to my own incompetence; I didn't check my work adequately and a mistake got through that caused some oscillation and that may have caused some knock-on issues. Anyway, I'm working on it and that's by the by...

However, I've been told that substituting a DC heater supply (one of Andrew's modules) for the AC one in the schematic could be causing oscillation. The valve being heated is a 12au7, which is indirectly heated. The assertion doesn't make sense to me but I'm no expert in these matters so thought I would seek the views of the panel?

I wouldn't expect it. But when something goes wrong you have to find it and this is one thing to rule out by swapping back to what you were doing before the oscillation.
