I received a delivery of back ordered parts today so I can start shipping again, I'm still short the 1K Carbons for just two remaining boards and will go hunting for those.

I owe.....

Mick : 2 x large
Thomas: 4 x large
Neal : 4 x large
davedms: 2 x large
Michael L 2 x large

For those going to Owston, please shout up via PM, we can save postage, if you're not in a huge hurry.

I've heard from Mick, anyone else care to choose Owston or the Royal Mail?

best regards,

I'm just building up 2 boards for 45's now . Finding myself a bit short of parts, from the original order - probably because of various trials/experiment with GK-71 etc . No bother, but just need to re-cap :
The 1.5A board probably came with 50mm heatsinks originally - I have some 63mm high ones , which I suppose may be for the 3A boards, but given the dissipation at 1.5A, I suppose these would be a good choice ? Do you have a Farnell or RS part number to hand on these ?
Green LED's - any will do, and I think the short lead goes to the 'flat' on the PCB ?
D44H11 is the preferred part ?
The C0G caps - did you end up with epoxy or non-epoxy caps in the end ?
A link to the part would be handy since you just bought a load of them.
Thanks in advance for any info, no rush.

edit : one more thing - I still have a couple of TIP122's, are they OK in this application ( did the circuit change ? ) for 1.5A ?

Reason I asked about epoxy again is it seemed towards the end of the design you'd found a solution to this, having done a bit more reading I suspect the change to D44H11 made the epoxy problem less audible. I had a quick look on Farnell and found 2 different types of 0.33u with no mention of epoxy in the datasheet, but I suspect it would take more prying to be 100% sure of that ?

Hi Mark,

Non epoxy caps, not taking that risk again ;)

Pretty much any green LED, I use the HLMP Y502, data sheet can be found here

D44H11 is the preferred part for the non-GM70 builds

I don't recognise that part Andrew, is that only for some type of boards ?

Thanks
Heatsinks - is this the one ?
Took a bit of time to find one with three holes -

Checking the picture which Andrew sent me I can see where they go, either side of the chip. I'd better get those retro-fitted ! Explains the ripple anyway lol

Nice detective work ! :D
Not quite as bad an error as the one I made when getting a board done for GM70, using a 24V SMPS as the input to the board. I connected the 24V in the wrong way round, and was wondering why the LM358P's kept exploding like little firecrackers !

Ps. Nick says the above heatsink link is correct, if anyone has to buy any more.

Hi Mark,

Yes, it's a SK129, select preferred height depending upon required degs/watt and ambient temp.

cheers,

Andrew

Ooh, the stuff's coming in now - parcel heaven :D
I see Farnell prioritised the C0G caps, I put them on the DHT boards this evening.

What are the IXYS rectifiers Andrew ?
I've just been double checking what goes where, but feeding in the codes on the IXYS parts I can't come up with a match .
I'll need a few more further down the line, not right now.
