More power to your Darlingtons !
So that's a bit bigger than a TO-220 , looks like M4 through-hole.
I'm guessing with about 3W dissipation it might not need a heatsink for 6.3V, 0.75A ?
How big's the yellow thing ?

I think I'll have 6-off too .

OK that's 12 off cool, :)

I'm just building an order or the parts for the breadboard.

No problem, we'll try to do this as cost effectively as possible. The boards will be supplied at cost plus postage and price for a jiffy envelope plus any parts supplied; the more buyers we get, of course, the better the deal.

Basically, the process is the same as the start up PCBs Nick supplied last time.

Hi Andrew.

I will take 8 as long is the price isn't too prohibitive.

Best Regards

James.

TIP142 can be TO-220 and TO-247 (aka plastic TO3), size affects power dissipation as you might imagine. TO-247 is 160W or somesuch.

I'd still want to use a bit of metal plate or something, better a kosher PCB mounted heatsink, even if it's 'only' 3 Watts :D

Yes , if it is 3W , then maybe I will add something to keep temps down .

The plan, as per Nick's idea, is to have the heatsink on the PCB, the two IC's will both use the one heatsink placed back-to-back; that keeps the costs down as only a single good quality heatsink is required.

Yes you could, in that case maybe one of them 60mm high ones, with the solder pegs, RS do 'em :?:

Ongoing work on the breadboard - nice and simple.
