Do I recognise the mk1 DHT heater PCB in there?IslandPink wrote:Yes, I'm always too optimistic about power supply voltages .
Meanwhile - there's quite a lot of 'stuff' in this amp, all of a sudden :
A 2 or 3-channel SE 'Horn-amp'

Aha, that was a long while ago. A person who's views I respect looked at the circuit and he commented that it looked overly complicated. This was just his opinion. On this forum opinions are allowed.
Then I knew nothing, now I know just a little.
To be honest, and I have no wish to offend, my interests lay in other directions these days. Having said that, the 6C33 is one valve (tube) that I might wish to become acquainted with at some future date.
Do you have an up to date link to the amp please Romy ?

Sorry, but this particular community is NOT like the others on the net, for which fact we are very thankful...
The main reason for this is that most of us have known each other personally for many years - we have regular meets.
It is very easy to be rude and confrontational behind a keyboard, less so face to face..
All here are free to disagree as much as they like, however we like to be polite and respectful in doing so. It's called manners..

pre65, there was no rudeness intended and certainly it was intended against you. The point I made that if somebody put themselves in advisory position ( as your friend did for you) then it would be nice if he able to offer more than just a naked unsupported opinion. My grandma does not like NASSA's space suite ventilation design, neither has she had reasons to like it or do not like it...pre65 wrote:That's quite rude.Romy The Cat wrote: but it looks like the guy you consulted was just another audio yahoo...

Great, you imply that if people are your friends that they are Einsteins and Gandhi? Anyhow, the subject that I was interested have exhausted.Ali Tait wrote:Sorry, but this particular community is NOT like the others on the net, for which fact we are very thankful...

No, what I was saying was this place is thankfully free of the endless circular arguments so prevalent in other places, that generally descend into chaos and name calling.
You however, have already intimated that someone here is a "cretin". It must be great to be able to arrive in a place and immediately know that all there are inferior to yourself.
Pray tell us lesser mortals what it is like on your lofty plane..

Hmmm..
The views expressed in the post referring to cretins and audio yahoos of course mean that horns that leave no space for the listener to occupy the same room are the greatest speakers ever to be let loose by mortal man, anything else is a waste of time. The Melquiades amplifier is the best in the world. Nothing but NOTHING comes close.
Diy'ers are the worst kind of irritating little asswipes, who only go for simplicity of design because they are clueless idiots who don't know how to design proper gear.
Swipe these fools aside I say....morons, the lot of 'em. (my arse)

having given it some thought it occurred to me that the Romy chap didn't know he was being rude or offending people, even less understanding the subtleties of our forum etiquette.....I'm guessing, but perhaps English is not his first language, and if so, he may not have a firm grasp.
just sayin

Sorry, but I thought the BAITW (best amp in the world) came from Dartford ?SteveTheShadow wrote: The Melquiades amplifier is the best in the world. Nothing but NOTHING comes close.
I'm sure that's what DTB told me.
