eBay blues

It happens to all of us eventually! In brief... I bid and won those Panasonic speakers that Philip was talking about a few weeks ago. I got them for about £16. The seller then 'damaged them as he was packing them' so issued me a refund. I emailed back to say what's 'the damage, perhaps I could fix t...

and a few others besides ... which don't make for good drivers. (obscure ruskies apart the 300B weighs in at 800ohms) If you hear me wittering on about trasnconductance I am usually talking to myself and perhaps its better to avoid me. But although I came to what transconductance was many years ago ...

Sooooooooo Philip, having kindly loaned his monoblock simple mosfet monster to me, I set about 'avin'a lissen. To get me in the mosfet groove, I resurrected my er 'F5', which has a passing resmblance (SWIDT?) to Nelson's design (if you only have one eye, perhaps). This er 'F5' was a kit from Hongker...

hchello boysssss (I'm Marleine Dietriech for this posting - no I'm not, can't be bothered) I missed this when it got off the ground. 6EM7 , nicer output anode resistor, much higher input anode resistor than the beloved 6DN7. There are a couple of differences to my circuit to MrDtB's too. For the ano...

I misssed that bit Colin, mea culpa!

It was just something about the pressure that can be controlled by whatever is behind the driver. Its interesting and I know so very little about it. I'm a million miles form wanting to copy / clone this example of a loudspeaker.

I was hardly asking for details though, just wondering how the sound travelled from the back of the speaker. I didn't ask for any dimensions, I'm certainly not interested in building a pair even if they do sound greeeaaaatttt and I really want to hear them. I just wanted to know about that small rec...

so, looking at your woodcuts there is one small rectangular hole in the sound chamber - this gives pressure to the 'transmission line'?

It was the jettex 'fuel' I was more interested in and soon moved on to more explosive mixes! In an earlier phase (propellors) I was dead keen on model planes and made a beautiful aeropplane that was all balsa wood ribs and things with the tissue paper tightly doped up. It flew a short way and crashe...
