The tone I would like is like the track "A man and the blues" Budy Guy.

Thanks Greg, sadly it doesn't seem to like the version of IE bundled with Windows 8. It says "Simple Adblock only works with Internet Explorer, you are not using Internet Explorer" even though I am deliberately only using what was bundled to keep it simple. Shame. Never mind, the operating...

OK I am running Windows 8 as a fresh install on a spare hard disk. It is very fast and pretty easy to use if going from Windows 7. I had to surf the net on phone to find a product key though. Can someone walk me through how to block adds etc in IE? Slight issue. when you open a schematic it fires it...

Yes, I read elsewhere too. It's a nightmare.

Just have to treat it as fun I think.

Yes, the one I pasted a pic of is also a Tweed. The only difference is the larger caps on yours and the earlier version has a cathode resistor bypass cap on first stage which I would have left off anyway like I always tend do whenever possible.

Otherwise identical.

Hi Paul It was Steve the shadow that wrote that about the shunt pot on his 12b4A pre amp thread I was just using his words as a reference for the JE schematic as I did change the normal 100k pot for a 100k shunt pot using 92k resistors so thought the same may apply to this amp :) Didn't realise you...

That is funny. Quote my friend the pro: "Yes in those days you could pay £150 for a good guitar and Yamaha came along with something like this for £60 and it was better." He isn't a gadget freak at all anything cheap that will earn you a living in the pro world. But he does have a Flamenco...

Here are the two bodies I am working on. the one on the left I like best as the grain seems better. It is Alder. the one on the right they didn't say what wood it was. Looks like pitch pine but has no nots so your guess is as good as mine. Might it be Ash? What I find odd is on forums they say Ash h...

Yes I have a Chinease trad style ash tray on it's way with the holes in it. Best I suppose is mount it guided by the pickup route and drill through said holes.

My yamaha classic

It has good tone believe it or not. For a cheap guitar the sound board does a good job. I think the bridge wants filing down. I found out the fret buzz problem is me as expected. My friend showed me that it is the adjacent string resonating. I have to in some situations damp adjacent strings with my...

In all seriousness if it is only 35 watts is it not just crying out for an adapted output section to push pull KT88 or EL34?

You could sell kits.

" Can't have the shunt pot changing the input impedance as it travels. " Does this apply to my JE labs amp as well as there are no grid resistors in the schematic? Doesn't apply col. Your pot is not a shunt pot. The load remains 100k all the time whichever position is selected. Even if yo...
