Ah good , phew ! Just realised I didn't mention, in my impressions of the meeting, that Steve's new Tribute output transformers on the PX25 amp sounded really nice . The treble tone was really lovely and I reckon it's a step up from where you were before - Is this your impression Steve ? CV was ask...

Thanks to all for your input. I may revert to bread boarding some power supplies and see how i go. I have this un definable urge to make things as simple as i can.,, some of these suggestions challenges that, but what I'm proposing in my 1st post involves quite a lot of hardware, I could easily make...

Decoupling...

When each valve has a separate supply it clearly make a difference. So a question .. Does the...

The inductance varies with the current going through the choke, some of the parmeko chokes have a working range of inductance as their spec, in reality the lower current transformer would have less inductance at the same current has the higher rated one .if that equates to less hum ...has the ripple...

When will the next one be? Assuming May 2014, it would be good Steve if you could book this soonest so those of us who travel can make early bookings for the hotel etc. Understandably, Owston Hall gets busy in May with golfers. It would be great to book rooms early to avoid disappointment. Thanks :...

Talking of hum... I Just got my new amp working... Plugged it in an hour ago, still sounds a bit lean but its shows lots of promise .... Loads of texture coming through, quite different to the old amp. I was going to,convert the old px25 amp to use an IDH output valve if i get time... See how i go F...

I had a couple of 12 inch goodman speakers with a pair of ex4's , they would have been better matched with ex/dx3's but i have the 4's ..... There was perfect cross over in my opinion with a simple 1st order crossover, it was just about impossible to hear the differences between the speakers. As Ed ...
