FS: Fostex FE167E Drive Units

One pair of Fostex FE167E 'Full Range' Speaker Drivers. I bought these a few years ago and planned to use them in an Open Baffle project - it never happened and as I've just purchased a pair of Lii Audio Fast-10S speakers for my next project these are now surplus to my requirements. They are in good...

Re: Lii Audio Speakers

I've managed to capture a pretty accurate reconstruction of a half-section of the Lii speaker pear-shape. The light blue line is made up of a couple of elipse arcs and is the outer profile of the speaker (Lii use 15mm side panels). Capture.PNG In theory it's pretty simple to mirror the other half an...

Re: Lii Audio Speakers

By referencing points on the jpg image of the pear-shaped section (from the Lii Audio website) to a grid of reference points in my CAD software I've been able to scale the jpg and establish that its basic shape is an elipse so I've created the correct the shape at 1:1 scale for most of the section. ...

No prob, it was kind of tongue in cheek but I'll list them over the weekend.

BTW, you have noticed that there are a couple of pigeons tucking into your piccalilli sarnies?

Re: Lii Audio Speakers

Does this mean you got the "original" shapes, not just recalculated? That is what I had hoped for but unfortunately there seems to be an issue with the CAD files I received that distorts the pear-shaped section - I think its a result of the way the drawing has been produced (using splines...

Re: SLOB project

I still incline slightly toward the OB with the Lii units as I think you'll get a more open natural sound on vocals. Hmmm, it really is an interesting dilemma. I'm confident that a good result can be had with either approach. The SLOB will cost in terms of the crossover, additional amps and bass sp...

Re: SLOB project

So to start cutting through this procrastination... I don't have the money, time or space to entertain two new pairs of speakers so I'm going to stick with the Lii Audio Fast-10S units and the Fostex FE167Es will have to go so they'll go up on the 'For Sale' boards here and on DIY Audio as soon as I...

I liked them a lot, I may have mentioned this before!
£50 per piece to you sir! I'll tell you what, if you buy one for that price I'll throw in a second one for free!
