[ Does your remark about 32v being the max suggest that I may have just about got away with 30v? NO ! The 32V Al mentioned would be (presumably !) the voltage to the modules from the PSU board. With a full wave rectifier (cap input) the voltage out is 1.4 X the voltage in ! So 18V in gives about 25...

If you are biasing the valve via the cathode then would not the cathode resistor need to be changed ? Is that now compound bias ?

I thought with fixed bias you did not have a cathode resistor ! My word I'm getting confused again, NURSE !! :wink:

From the wiring diagram on the e-bay advert it looks very much like the 18-0-18 (or whatever voltage) connects directly to the PSU board.

Dave, I don't quite know the procedure, but I and several others here get free standard delivery from RS ! You may have to register with them as a company (D.K. Electronics ?) but it is certainly worthwhile. You are better to ask questions like the last one BEFORE you buy on impulse, and likely get ...
