Nice Steve. Does aluminium work-harden at all or can it be bent "in one"?

I'm no metalbasher Steve, how did you get such a nice corner and straight side at the front?

Re: On My Bench.
Recliner no worky, very serious indeed. Excellent interim solution Dave .
I think you've let yerself go a bit there though, not as neat cutting as previously. It's to be expected though when faced with such an emergency.

Re: Audiojumble 03/03/24
I might be interested in a couple of C3g, a quad even. Then the C3g phono stage I've been working on for the last 18 years on and off might last as long in service...

Hey, it wasn't obvious on my phone! Honest! And my attention was drawn to Dave's tidy manicure which appeared to me to be pointing at the two soldered joints!

Lots of interesting stuff here that would probably stand their own thread. I'd be particularly interested in the whole remote control and preamp setup.

Ah yes, I see it now.
Guessing that's your fret hand rather than strumming hand? (Yeah, you guessed, I'm not a musician!)

Re: On My Bench.
What/where are the signs here Dave? The solder joints by your finger look okay. I'd never have seen this. Perhaps I need to looking on a big screen not a phone.Dave the bass wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 7:28 pm Signs of heat in the PSU area on the underside of the PCB.

Re: C3g Aikido Phono
Good spot, I'd not even considered this. 2200uF would probably be better, starting to get quite large.

Re: C3g Aikido Phono
A bit of an update for record purposes having remodelled the parallel fets. With the single fet model I tried bypassing the source resistor with 470uF and this added 5dB of gain, nearly 33dB of gain now. But the noise increased significantly from ~53nV/Hz1/2 to ~84nV/Hz1/2. With two paralleled fets,...

Me four.
I've not seen Vitiux before but thought it looks interesting and I'd have a play with it. Unfortunately the virus checker picked up a threat with the download but didn't give a clue as to what. Probably some kind of embedded minor spyware, but I binned it anyway.
