Re: 7W, 6336A SE Amplifier

I've found the boards Steve, I have half a dozen of them should you need any.

Re: 7W, 6336A SE Amplifier

If I choose a 6SN7 cascade to drive the 6336A, I might even be able to adapt the pair of SEOTL driver PCBs, Ray sent me last year. It should work nicely with only a couple of component value changes. Should you need a spare or two Steve I'm sure I've got a few more of the 6SN7 boards somewhere here.

Re: Nothing In Particular

I have a few days off and what happens - downstairs ring keeps tripping out! :banghead: Fortunately, my brother is a qualified electrician, unfortunately he lives 100 miles away :sad10: First thing we established is that he's coming down soon to install a new consumer unit as it's got the ...

Re: My Next Big Ride

A postscript to the 118 mile charity ride; I did three more good rides last week reaching an overall distance of 202 miles (excluding my 7mile daily commute round trips). Average speed for the 200 was 14.5mph and total climbing was 12,916 ft. Finally, yours truly on the road... https://i.imgur.com/s...

Re: My Next Big Ride

Thanks guys.

No real ill-affects this morning, just a little numbness on my hands from riding on the brake hoods. I'll be cycling into work shortly.

Re: My Next Big Ride

Ray's a bit quiet. How was the weather in Somerset today ? Cloudy to start but then the sun came out and it was pretty warm. Anyway the deed is done and, as of this morning, MIND is the best part of £6000 to the good. Here are my stats, epic ride and pretty chuffed with the numbers; Departed: Jul 0...

Re: Remember These?

With other stuff on my plate an inverted OTL isn't going to be a project for me just yet but I'm very tempted to have a go at one sometime. Perhaps I can use the hiatus to try and assess the suitability of 6N1P valves by finding out about plotting the curves.

Re: My Next Big Ride

Pedal like the clappers Ray but remember to enjoy the ride too. Good luck. Oooh, trust me, I plan to enjoy it - it's not often you get to eat lots of cake guilt free! But apart from that, the route does take in some beautiful bits of this part of the world and I plan to partake of the views. Thanks...

Re: Remember These?

Hi Wolfgang. Even if Steve were to entertain building an inverted OTL, I think the constraint he, and others, would face with the 6AS7 circuit you've used is owning 8ohm speakers. Although I have 15ohm Lowthers similar to your own, it was the prospect of having an amplifier with a bit more flexibili...

Re: My Next Big Ride

So, only two days to go now before the 118mile charity ride so a quiet weekend with nothing too strenuous; did an easy 17mile jaunt around some local lanes at 06:30 this morning and probably just 5-10miles tomorrow to stay relaxed. By this time on Monday I should have 30miles in my legs and my first...

Re: Need ideas - workshop floor covering...

That Zinsser WaterTite paint looks interesing. My garage is half-buried (we live on a hill and the garage is cut into the slope) and I have some damp patches where the external tanking seems to be leaking so I may give it a go - only problem is the amount of 'stuff' in the garage and it would be a m...
