Yep, they use chipboard in the large hadron collider*, its such a great insulator. Then again, maybe that's why its broken down :-) S'true, Me an' MJ built that too, some of it had been spec'd in MDF but I pointed out the air gap in Chipboard is way betterer. MJ burst into Billie Jean and kept blum...

As long as its isolated from 0v it won't know any difference. Just check that if you are using a heat sink and no insulating kit that its not connecting to ground anywhere. I remembered your timehounoured phrase "the device only knows what voltage it's got on its pins" y'see but just want...
