Can't help thinking this technology is going to be hugely significant. This shows the basic principal very nicely, but only builds objects from bonded resins. I've been on here for, what, three or four years now? I still have some very un-trendy Mission 3-way modern slimline type speakers, a beat-up old A&R A60 and Arcam CD player. As a direct result of Audio-Talk and to a lesser extent the WD forum, I now also have a Squeezebox, and my old belt-drive...

Don't forget that a lot of the brilliant sounding kit there cost a good deal less than the £750 you're thinking of spending on your CD player upgrade!

You can make a marginal improvement by bending flat the tag that locates the fixed end of the spring. Sometimes it doesn't take much...

If you think of the power rating of a resistor, that's dependant on current rather than voltage as well. Doesn't matter if you've got 1v on one end and 0v on the other, or 1kV on one end and 999v on the other, the power dissipation is the same. Same thing applies to a piece of wire.

The rating of the wire is based on how hot it gets if you pass a current down it. The heat generated is dictated by the resistance of the wire and the size of the current. Using ohm's law, heat generated (power) = i2r (can't do superscript). Voltage is irrelevant.
