just a thought Tony, but If you're doing the finding it suggests your friend is not very savvy about modern speakers or hifi or wotnot.......... would it be helpful to suggest he go have a listen to some modern loudspeakers as he may also like the sound of them.......plan B if you can't find a drive...

I've always set my fretless up that way as there is a dot on the side of the neck to allow for it....is that the wrong way?

ah, more that might be staring me in the face...surprised Chris(matstrangler) didn't mention it.. If you set up a fender correctly(guessing again) you always tune the bridge for the harmonic on the 12th fret.....if you then look at the position of the individual bridges they are not anywhere near a ...
