Re: Hi from Chicago

The Transcendant was a home build synthesiser kit in about 1972. I used a aviation for a couple if years - never stayed in tune! But it made loads of noise.

Welcome!

Re: PP3521 idht

Oh my, I thought the primaries were acting as anode chokes anyway. If you have valves and transformers then bollocks to capacitors eh! Perhaps I should just disappear (?).

Aha, thanks for your sensible reply Neal. You did better than I. I too am put off by silly names insurance companies. Maybe they are OK, though - who knows.

Re: Vortexbox Blues

Err, dunno. Vortexbov 2 TB is fine but it seemed to me that USB is closer and what happens when...... so I went bigger and bigger with USB. I thought I was Cocky to 2 gig and then it fails. - up & running again.

Does Squeezebox have a USB limit???

Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?

Laters.... Grand Funk Railroad seem to do the trio in its most simplistic sense - it works... but at the other end of the spectrum is Jimi - hard work! But he did all that seemingly effortlessly - from my perspective it was genius . Blue Cheer, I got there too late.

Re: testing

Cheers me dear. Is it calibratable? We have a minion to do this in the paediatric booth - anechoic and measured, annually- lovely nothingness where I'm alone with my tinnitus... if it mattered. I've had fun messing with 'hi fi stuff' here , but then a patient comes along and... back to reality.

Grand Funk Railroad - early stuff. Almost as bad as Blue Cheer. But it does blow out the tubes!
