Ron Bosio and the Ash Green Cult?

Haven't heard mention of them for at least 25 years.

They were a bunch of Linn/Naim acolytes in those days.

I still really would like to do a "simple" amp with no (as such) phase split. One thing that holds me back on that idea is needing a CCS in the KT66 cathodes that will do 80 -100 ma, that's getting very near the limit of the 10m45s ? Why not bias the output in class AB1, at -40 grid volts...

Dunno if you know the track 'Barca Solaris' but they did an awethumne version of that last night too. Hairs on the back of the neck were going 'doiiiiiinnng!'. DTB A fantastic track oozing with atmosphere. I have the 11 minute live version of "Barca Solaris", recorded at the Satellit Cafe...

Good bit of lateral thinking there Nick. If they are 6.5 inch drivers, why bother crossing them over at all? just run them open and fill in the top with the tweeter. The bass will be made up by sheer force of numbers so there's no need to dedicate any of them to pure bass duty :) I can't be certain ...

Don't unplug any phonos whilst it is on. Check that it functions without any connections to other equipment. The earth continuity MUST be sound from the 0V busbar and where the centre tap is grounded to the mains earth pin of the plug, with the unit isolated from other gear. Test this with the plug ...

Well I had a rather nice chicken curry at the Grosvenor hotel in RHB on Sunday night. Steve, I mean you no disrespect, but copyright is a serious subject not a joke. OK. I'll bite but this is the last word from me on the subject. I agree that copyright is no joke and is there to protect the interes...

Well I had a rather nice chicken curry at the Grosvenor hotel in RHB on Sunday night. Bit hot for my liking but washed down with a couple of pints of Stella it went down a treat. Anyone else had a really nice curry this week. It's salmon for tea tonight with new potatoes, broccoli and carrots; a nic...

As with Phil I'm not about to comment on Clive's posts I was away when the storm broke anyway, but I will say one thing. Private correspondence and the Internet are mutually exclusive and rely on people using their common sense about what to, and what not to post. Now compared to nasty bstards who p...

Written English is weird, too many words sound the same but spelt different, that's where spell checkers get it wrong. And there are groups of letters that spell the same but sound different. In case you didn't know; it was Frank Bough who, after he had traveled through Slough, observed that the pl...

I bet most of the guests are search engine web crawlers. You know Paul Yesterday morning we went through Scarborough. I was on a mission to set foot on a beach I had not seen for 50 years, the beach at Cayton Bay. We talked in the car about the fact that you live in Scarborough and would have liked ...

Just back from Robin Hood's Bay and discovered that all hell had broke loose in my absence.
