WD will be more than happy to sell you the PCBs (if they still have them for Pre2), and will give you any help you may need. They're a friendly bunch.

If it has a split screen, then it's a mkVII. A very good friend of mine spent about five years restoring one, and sold it last year to buy an XK140. The guy who bought it sent a flunky down to look at it, and said he had something in mind. It ended up as part of the official Jaguar entry for last ye...

Having looked on Ebay, radiograms don't make money unless they're very special. One with a pair of PX4s inside went for about a grand the other day, but this sort of thing gets about £50 as a rule, mainly because they're sods to transport. I think I'll probably take it and strip it, either for my ow...

Sounds like the HF1300 to me. There were loads of different variations used by Celestion, B&W, Spendor et al.

The tuner-amp looks very similar to Dave's, but without the black gunge on the txs, and don't recall seeing a magic eye. Mind you, I've only had a quick look. It's a little more modern, with that groovy 50s/60s spindly splayed legs look. Can't find a picture anywhere on the net. The speakers are sin...

He did indeed. I can't make up my mind on this one. It'll probably sound nice, but there are domestic hurdles to overcome and I feel bad about pulling it to bits when it's such a nice little period piece. On the other hand, if I don't have it, it'll go on the tip which would make it's 84 year old ow...

Radiogram

I have been offered a 1960 vintage Pye G60 stereo radioogram which will otherwise probably end up on the tip. It appears to run EL84s single-ended, through output txs about 1.5" square. It was working OK when put into storage some years ago. Valve lineup is ECC85, ECH81, EBF89, ECC85, 2xEL84 I ...
