Re: Melanie

My late brother was a big Melanie fan, and I inherited his record collection.

I'll maybe play a few tracks, and remember both of them. :)

Re: Road vehicle fires.

Bus operator Go-Ahead is carrying out safety checks on almost 400 electric buses after one was involved in a fire in south-west London. The bus caught fire at Putney bus garage, Chelverton Road, on Wednesday morning. No-one was injured and the cause is being investigated. A letter to staff from Go-A...

Went to see an orchestra tonight at Huddersfield Town Hall. Symphonie Fantastique, including Ravel's Rapsodie espagnole. Also, catch previous Leeds International Piano Competition winner, Artur Pizarro, as he performs Saint-Saëns' ever-popular Piano Concerto No. 2 with the world-class Orchestra of ...

Re: Nothing In Particular

I thought I knew about most V8 petrol engines ever manufactured in bulk. I recently came across an 1100 cu in (18Ltr) all aluminium flat plane crank DOHC 32valve V8 petrol engine from the 1940s. Seems Ford USA got hold of some RR Merlin drawings and built their own V12 version, but for reasons it wa...

Yes, and no.

Because it's a new (and IMHO poorly implemented in the first few weeks) system I am allowed to send a copy of the receipt for the matter to be settled without payment of any fine. :)

Re: Parking fine.

So, I went to the Aldi shop again, and in the car park there are notices (hard to read unless you get close) that instructs one to enter your registration number on a terminal inside the store. I went in, but could not see this terminal, seems they are located the other side of the tills. Fortunatel...

Re: Parking fine.

Good news, I'm at Mums today, and although she said the Aldi receipt was lost, I've managed to find it. :D

The receipt was timed at 15:49 and I was timed out of the car park at 15:54.

So I will contact Aldi customer services and see what they say.
