After much deliberation and much reading of forum posts I have opted for the Mark Audio CHP70 Gen1. After reading many of the forum threads on here, their seem to be a lot of positive feedback on the drivers, especially when they are teamed with the Frugel Horn Mk3. Plus Blueplanet Acoustic have th...

DaveD is sending me a stock pair of the CHP70 G2 drivers so I can carry out direct A-B comparisons to the originals in the FH3. Certainly the original benefits from a 'supertweeter' kicking in around 12KHz. So your observations the G2 benefits from one too is no surprise. I just hope Mark hasen't m...

've also been comparing the Frugal Horn Mk3 with the original version and noticed the original had a square backed option rather than the flared back. Could this be applied to the Mk3 without degrading the sound quality? In a word NO. The flaired back on the FH3 is an integral part of the design. Y...

Is there any reason why the super-tweeter can't be mounted on the baffle below the main driver? Yes. There isn't a hole there? Arf! DTB easily remedied, but there's something somewhat more DIY about the top mounted pod - cant' have things too elegant now can we? edit: not really a dodgy basement DI...

What would you guys call reasonably powerful? How long is a piece of string? I believe that I read long ago in a mag that high power amps came about because of more complicated speaker designs meaning more complex crossovers etc. wasting power and making them inefficient. Also 'cause it's com...

Re-corners +Frugs, aye, but it's what they did in the corner to transform their response that impressed me. Like I said earlier I had an idea they'd go even more awry but no, they tightened up and flattened out. Blummen clever that. Dave, you want to snap up my FE126En FH3's before they are gone. :...

Oo arr respek. 'Twas a chequered history bringing the union together, but there you go. (I like Simon Schama's A History Of Britain.) Minor technical detail, but did you know some of the white stripes are wider than others? crikey dinga - not the easiest surface on which to paint this type of patte...

Chrisby thanks for filling in the details. We must have passed by like ships in the night those three days. Has there been anything like it since? There was another VSAC in Vancouver WA in 2008, but while it was a nicer venue, and just as many good and crazy folks presenting and attending, somehow ...

I did read that article when it was published and read all Bruces stuff after vsac. But to actually implement the concept is a big task, which you are obviously well on the way to achieving. The only other system which held a cnadle to it was Josh's GM100's and that was probably down to his speaker...
