Ah those instructions are exactly the same as the readme file. The stumbling block is the .INC file mention, says don't need one but then says "ModelFile = name of your include file (for example, dmtriodep.inc)" I don't have any such .inc file!! Or any by any other names At the moment the ...

Yeah "This symbol is for use with a subcircuit macromodel that you supply."

Help file says about 'include':

Syntax: .include <filename>

It's a directive.

A search reveals there are no '.inc' files in any of the sub-folders.

Still can't get the select list to work.

OK this bit: "Spice Model = Triode (or whatever at least one subcircuit is named in your normally used .inc file)"

No idea where that is or even if I'm using it (the .inc file) Image ...?

To change the valve right click on the triode's symbol on the schem - a dialog will appear, click on the line Spice Model - select your preferred triode from the list - hit return, click OK - jobs a good un.
