As if it's not undignified enough to get yourself shot in the woods while minding your own business, you have to get $£%&ed as well. :(

Our wire may yet be saved...

http://www.diyaudiocable.com/ The lunatics have taken over the asylum... BTW -am I alone in reckoning that if the soldering technique on the front-page drawing is anything to go by, these things really would kill giants if ever they were asked to carry some current?   My good fr...

Assuming it actually does something, it obviously will be adding distortion. I'm not using the term in a positive or negative sense there; just observing.

Personally, I'd rather buy / build a better pair of speakers or amplifier, or attend to the room's signiture, but YMMV, as always.

Yep, they burn very nicely. Lots of lovely smoke & fumes. ;^)

Of course, I'd wait for a day when the wind is in the East, so it blows over the neigbour's garden. Revenge at last for their constant hammering in the evenings.

Yeah, I've never even been sold on the idea of ribbon tweeters partnered to cone units -it's almost impossible to match them properly, especially as the XO point is invariably slap-bang in the middle of the ear's most sensitive region. Trying to partner an electrostatic to a dynamic driver is even h...

Well, as far as I'm concerned, it's WD's loss. I didn't follow the thread as I very rarely visit WD these days, but Greg will have had his reasons for being irritated by the bloke. And from what Colin says, the guy appears to be a right pillock. As for the DM70s, its a long time since I heard a pair...

Tragic indeed. I only saw him once, at the defunct Beverly Picture Playhouse about 8 years ago, but he gave a great performance, & joined a few of us in the pub across the alley during the interval.

God speed John.

What is hifi? Generally speaking, that which somebody else posesses, but you feel you do not. ;^) I try not to worry about it. Besides, although I'm excessively unlikely to reach Heaven, coveting someone else's ass (the girl who plays Mina Harker in Demons comes to mind) or stereo rig is unlikely to...

No problem; hope the TL is of some use.

Hmm. How large a baffle could you get away with? I'll see what I can come up with.

Patrick McGoohan RIP

A great loss to acting. No, he didn't do much in his last years, and it's a great shame he didn't achieve his full potential as an actor (think of how many roles he could have done), but for all that, he inspired a generation, with Danger Man & then, of course, The Prisoner, and I, for one, will...

...but me and veneers????......nah. I like the contrast of the horizontal and vertical ply laminations to be on show. There's no hiding what they're actually made out of. I'm a hippy nature boy at heart, it's shows in my speaker builds   Don't talk it down mate... it's called Art Deco. T...

Now sold -Greg missed out on them by a couple of hours (Murphey's law strikes again). That said, as I PM'd (figured I'd repeat it here as a sort of generalised comment), if you're looking at heading down the OB route, & also thinking that FR drivers might be involved somewhere along the line too...
