I'm still eagerly awaiting results from Mike's offering. Its a great idea, put into operation. Now, does it work, how well? any tweaks? How many should I have bought?

onwards!

It can happen here; again!

A few months ago I won an eBay auction and the chap refused to send me the speakers. It was a bargain price, true, but an auction is an auction. The bloke got abusive in his emails to me. eBay 'had words with him'. On Sunday I won some more speakers - not a particulalry good price but worthwhile. An...

ooo I built em (C4S) and never used them, I have Kevin Carter ones for Amity, they worked in Andrew L's lovely little phono stage and I am of the opinion that on the whole they can be the dog's bits; they make a PSU for the driver stage independent of the PSU for the output stage, the sharpen up thi...

But first let's realign the chokes, add a llittle more mfd to the last PSU cap (my last Elna Cerafine big boy!) - there is tidying up that can be done.

It might even be fun and its a good use for a very nice valve. The 46s can stay for 'best'.

A stay of hexicution.

Wings are probably a good way to go - they can look smaller! and are tunable. Wicks sells 'piano hinges' much cheaper than I have been able to find elsewhere. My thinking was to use duck tape to hold the pieces together and screw piano hinges down on top of the duck tape to make it more 'permanent'....

I wonder, if I understood what our 'guest' infip was saying, would I be any wiser, more fulfilled and I didn't know that guests could post mesages so does this mean like the hackers being able to tell the world that climate change is a scam, is this BB then about to crash; taken over by deviousness ...

Is this the only way forward?!? what does the wife say!?! Hooray for all that cardboard though; I'd better get searching some out as speermints need doing on speakers, down in the Bedford Labs too. You are reliably using your pink nose CD for measurements? I wonder, can you reliably tell an increase...

okay hammonds are in and Nigel Kennedy is enthusiastically doing Bach - sounds fine to me. Primary 10k tap on the trafos, 300v H.T. and 500 ohms for cathode resistor with 20mfd solen cap. 6072 SRPP input driver. but there's a hummmmm! insane laughter - where'd that come from? Its on the input and re...

Yeah and sad to say, that WDpre3 is a corker! no reservations. And truly awful to relate, too, is that my WADpre2 knock spots off my 26pre. 26 has more gain so sounds gutsy, two globe ancient valves and an attractive tone, but I don't think 26 is as good (airy, musical, objective without sounding cl...

I tried another not quite so weedy output pair last night - deep bass, woolly too and very little top. I think weedy transformers are false economy though, if I can be bothered, there may be improved mileage in parafeedling. Today I drill holes for Hammond 125Fs (- where my 'Loftin White' started a ...
