Last night the guy who previously played Fender Bass, brought instead a Takemine TB10 Fretless bass which can be played over the shoulder or upright. He played it over the shoulder. If you want my humble opinion he should stick to the Fender. http://www.bass-aholic.com/basses/T/takamine/TakamineTb10...

Thanks Ed.my teacher did say it was unusual for someone to make a good sound so early, so I know I am on right lines. I did achieve grade 6 tenor horn and 5 trombone at school but it was many years ago. Mum was a professional pianist (concerts and radio 3 recital once) She ended up a music teacher s...

perhaps I should forget about frets, reduce the number of strings and not spend my money on solid Ash bodies and Seymore Duncan Pickups.

Dave it will take me a while when I have more time to follow that and apply it.

I think I may be geting a little fret buzz at times. It isn't nice. But it may be me.

Do you think I have enough life left to prodcue a sound and musicality like this?

thanks for the warning.

My pro music friend did say that he would mike a classical guitar rather than use a pickup. that would probably be why.

I shall persevere then. Must just be I am crap.

a more useful measurement bottom of string to top of fret 1 is .95mm fret whereas at 15 it is 5.4mm

holding fret 1 and 15 down apart from the adgecent frets all the others have a gap which is .5 to 1mm depending on fret, it is worse at the machine end.

I will now watch the video.

Thank you.

I imagine these rooms are a bit like the VSAC rooms which were a sort of double bedded motel room, maybe around 18ft by 14ft with perhaps 8ft ceilings, if that. Many of the exibitors tried to use the bed mattresses as bass sinks. The only room in which the acoustics didn't spoil things was Bruce Edg...

Classical Guitar Neck is it goosed?

I have an '80s Yamaha G 170 which was my Mother's. anyway I have begun to learn some chords. I am wandering if this Neck is too far gone. It is certainly had for a beginner. At the machine end the top of the string is 2.7mm off the neck, at the furthest fret at the struming end it is 8mm. The tone o...

Steve I can't wait to hear whether you have made a variable anode load and a variable U/L // G3 bias. Because although you have come up with a great sound there is every possibility that you will be able to blend for different tones/clipping/distortion properties to suit your mood/music variables.

Does anyone know is the Strat neck different from a Telly neck? They seem to be sold as different but why should they actually need to be different?

I bought Sygic. but I do have a gripe about it. As one only needs a sat nav on very rare occasions, that occasion is usually when you are in the middle of the countryside trying to find an obscure location. That is all very well and the reason why I downloaded Sygic because it has a map that doesn't...

Just done a search on it and Broskie also cals it Ultralinear. http://www.tubecad.com/january2000/img25.gif What is most interesting is his explanation of the mechanism. It explains I think why you find it better. That is because you are using it as a driver and not just a voltage amplifier. (though...

Well this is what it's all about finding the best sound with lots of trial and error.

I am sure that little ultralinear modification of yours is a big part of the triode nature you have discovered. I don't remember seeing that in Morgan. Where did you get that idea from? Your own? Very clever.
