here was only one production run of the MA Woofer#6 (CSS EL166) and all were sold. There is no intent to make any more these drivers. Colin, When i cleaned Bob out of white EL166 (for our woofTs) he said he still had some black. You should contact him and see if you can reserve them. Mark is perfec...

Made by Chrisby? If so he's done a top pro job on the cabinets. Bernie. My solid wood guy. So, for reference, from your experiments with solid hardwoods what's the general verdict on different species of timber? Not enuff data yet. The Western red cedar is very surprising... we are trying to work o...

Solid wood is OK s long as you take care with the grain directions... it really helps to have someone experienced in solid. We have been torture testing some solid wood boxes and have yet to break them (ie the wood cracks under hunidity & temp swings). The douglas fir boxes have a euphonic colou...

Email me and I'll send you the latest set of plans for the FH3. PDF file is too large for me to attach to this thread and I cannot now locate in which thread DaveD posted up the plans on DIYAudio web pages. Link to the current planset in post 1 of this thread. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-ra...

To add to what Colin has already outlined: I've not heard CHP70 but have certainly heard lots of EL70 (and my tweaked & matched version EL70eN). Althou not having the finesse of the A7.3, this likely is what makes it a happier match to lesser amplifiers. The new CHP70.2 is, IMO, a step back from...

Mine went noisy too... and the $4 each Radio Shack/Alps just keeps ticking.

Bipole metronome springs to mind Maybe ask Dave Dlugos (Planet10) he's the expert on bipoles for this particular speaker design. I'm OK on the "normal Met" but bipoles are a different execution of the Metronome concept. Here be the secret receipe (shh .. don'y tell anyone) ... double the ...

... why should a FLH design be different to a BLH? Surely they are both 'horns', for which the optimal profile cross section is round, that just differ in length etc. In a FLH you are trying to get as extended and as smooth a high frequency as possible. In a BLH you DO NOT want high frequency leaka...

Dunno whether this was mentioned previously but, being a pedant and leaving aside the drafting inaccuracies, these units are decorated with Union Flags, not Union Jacks. A Union Jack will only be found on a jack staff, i.e. on the bows of a British warship. Could well be, but in usage, here in the ...

i'd only fitted the chp70s the night before and played about an hours music through them, but id thought already that a tweeter was needed after that hour. If anything like the EL70, they need quite a bit of time to break in. The EL70s make the Fostex look like pikers, needing an est 500+ hours for...
