Lundahl 1620 PP output transformers - for sale

Good link for those in the US - nice to see some people out there continuing this sort of service. For me it would be too expensive given the postage each way. Neal - it was David Giffin I got the reply from . I have e-mailed back with the info about your 103D and a request to clarify what the speci...

Well then .... !
Thanks for the info . I'll check who it was that e-mailed me back, see if was him or an 'oppo' , then go from there. Either way it needs another enquiry .

Dave gave me some homework to do , today , via email ; however this makes things a lot clearer. One of the problems is I've never ( inexplicably ) owned a copy of 'You' . It's clear that this riff re-appears on 'Green' of course, which I well know . So there we are, one piece of the (excellent) puzz...

No Dave - I understand the emotions and how this might happen ! - it was the specifics of the Master Builder Gong riff and the Rankin Roger / dub/mirror in the bathroom journey that I need to do some musical research on !

Gary would have used whatever was handy, from memory I think the amp ( he showed it to me ) used a mix of the battery-bias CCS and the self-bias CCS's : http://www.pimmlabs.com/web/Battery_biased_ccs.htm http://www.pimmlabs.com/web/self_bias.htm Gary used to sell the PCB's and a few components like ...

That sounds great .. but I don't really understand why !
If I can get my system working with the 15" OB speakers, then I'll be asking you to design a short course in getting the background (musical) education to fully appreciate your enthusiasm :happy7:

OK, I'll need a little while to read & understand that, but thanks for the detailed explanation. Now, if we just use a pot as the 'R' on your diagram above (left) , that suggests it will need to be a decent power-rating, as the main current will flow through drain & source rather than via th...

OK , is that how you use then then ? I do notice that on Gary P's CCS's there is an arrangement that must be something like the K&K ones . The variable resistor is on the left from gate to output, and the 'R1' appears to be in the same position as the 'Rset' on the K&K, from source to output...

Are we talking differences in micro-dynamics, or bass dynamics ? Most PP amps seem superior in bass dynamics to SE amps unless the SE amp has a shunt-regulated supply . In microdynamics it can be the other way round . On the other hand the Aurora that I built , and Gary P's 47 PP amp were as dynamic...

You're right - forgot about the gate-stoppers  - these will be the 900R's . The variable 1K connects, at one end, to the gate stopper of the Mosfet and hence to the gate , assuming this is the left pin ? The Rset ( sorry, it've been calling it 'Rsense' recently ) connects to the right pin of t...
