I had thought of doing this by getting PB Plywood to cut them from spare 18mm ply and then use my thicknesser to trim them down. But I decided this was a lot of work and wood shavings. So in the end my local timberyard had an offcut of 3/8" birch ply (actual 9mm but, hey whats 1/2 mm between f...

Nextdoors' washing line post looks like a big brown lolly stick.

Speaker looks good Colin. I remember those fiddly port spacers on the little Fonkens. I asked the friendly joiners next door to run them through their thicknesser to get 'em bang on 9.5mm.

Dunno about the Mahlers but wrt CB deffo make a cuppa and have a sarnie (or soup) first then do nothing but listen. Tweak the volume a smidge higher than normal, don't jump as CB starts off loud but peaks and troughs throughout.

I think it brill.

Just to fill in, it was a 5/6 (+ two dancers) piece, and several laptops. Good gig, not entirely in musical terms I guess (not that it ever was), but still some of the old fire, but with a bit more of a hint of political comment as well as the SF. I think they were much better for having Tim Blake ...
