Yes he has hasn't he  Now then, another mains transformer and choke set from our Mike, Knock off the first stage, Split into monoblocks, Build the Rozenblit grounded grid preamp out of my Audio Reality book, Power the grounded grid ...

Well... I've been having another furtle around inside the 13E1 amplifier this afternoon. Put a 10uF motor run cap in front of the first choke to make it cap input off the 375V tap on the HT winding. I'm now getting 357V at the 13E1 anode with 56V at the cathode resistors. 301V across the valve at 19...

Yeah One of Rock's true characters! My personal fave Beefheart albums are Strictly Personal and Bluejeans and Moonbeams. TMR got me into avant garde free jazz and all that stuff. I still can't listen to it all the way through (don't have the attention span required to do it). Nevertheless, how on ea...

Is it not 'cause both ends of one side are tied together (AC wise) by the 16,000uF? Also and as well as, the filament seems to have no DC path to ground. Cathode resistor missing? http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/images/misc/unsure.gif Well I've taken out the CMC. Looking at the cct it's not d...

That's not far off being like one of the really early audio chains, when it was all anode chokes and battery heaters. And DHT's of course Yes and I shall only be playing Jeeves, Wooster, Poirot and wartime swing through it. Why is it that every time I decide to do something about the appeara...

Go for it Steve, a similar thought with 10Y and GM70 had crossed my mind :-). Well here are the curve plots for the 801A pre stage (top) and the 4304CB driver stage (bottom) http://web.me.com/scress1958/Pictures/801a4304cbcurves.gif And here is the schematic: http://web.me.com/scress1958/Pictures/8...

Just had a brainstorm Naw......wouldnae work...or maybe it's daft enough to be a great amp  801A first stage, driving 4304CB second stage, IT coupled to OT100 power stage. All thoriated tungsten DHTs end to end. Could double as a table lamp too   I'd need to buy another 4304CB to rep...
