Well yes,leverage would do it,but if a plug breaks,might as well scrap the car(It's my girlfriend's old Polo) I was not suggesting using your full weight behind the bar - it's just that many folk overtighten the plugs to start with. Yes after driving it about a bit to get the engine hot, but the thread unseizing gunge is a good idea as well.
