Let's see if we can get this back on topic with some photos :). Been a bit busy since leaving Simon's but at risk to domestic equilibrium I thought I'd better get the photos fettled. So here goes... Colin's 300B amps and Chilingham speakers http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g201/simon2a3/Simon%20C%2...

How much would be a good deal? And which are the ones to go for? I don't know anything about James (in case you couldn't tell).

Don't need the 1M resistor though on V2 grid. :D

Thanks Mike.

Ah, so if direct coupling I don't need a grid leak?

Unless I'm misunderstanding you Phil isn't that pretty much what this is?

Aren't you going a bit the extra mile with the PSU config. though?? Because of the two mains txs, or the two chokes? Yeah possibly on both counts, but I have the iron :). The (C)LCLC reduces the HT ripple to very small, and the separate tx for the 6DN7 means I don't have top drop a load of voltage,...

Not much progress, still in the thinking stage. Had a play around with the 6EM7 curves and then went back to the 6DN7 curves. The previous plan was to use Mr I's big tx for the GM70 and a 750V CT Hammond tx for the driver/pre. Then I had a play with using the big tranny for the whole amp, direct cou...

And still using them too our Andrew. Fabulous valves and the WE91s live on :). Anyone want to make me a crazy offer for a pair ;).

More hours in the day sounds good. Either 48 hours, or pay me twice as much so I can work part time (I wish!)

Well I can't imagine how you inlay ebony for text. I can see how a laser might cut the parent material but how on earth is the ebony cut to shape? Must be laser again?

Indeed, very impressive. Laser cutting for ebony inlay moves the goalposts somewhat :). But how did you inlay the text? Surely that's not ebony?

Yeah, bring it to Owston - I missed Martin's amp when he brought it to Owston. I was talking with James D about 2A3s at the time funnily enough. It looks great Lee - how did you do the woodwork to get the curved scallop and marking? I must build another 2A3 amp sometime for my RCAs - this combinatio...

I had the same problem in Windows 7 Mike. Things like this really annoy me - I didn't ask for it and didn't want it. Purging it was very satisfying!

Isn't MSN (now Live Messenger) supposed to be the biggest harbourer of viruses?
