What might interest me is a DIY version of the 300b PREAMP that I found on the interweb recently. http://www.manleylabs.com/containerpages/300b99.html I used a 300b line stage for a while about 6 years ago, very organic sound. Not what I would call "neutral" tho ... But who wants n...

That is a picture of the horns used in the famous Fletcher System made by Bell Labs in the early '30s.

The basshorn used a 20" compression driver and was used to 300Hz. Two multicell horns were used above 300Hz.

3 of theses systems were used on the stage,
a 3 channel system.

Re G2 I've run 813s in triode at 1300volts,

1100V - should - be safe. Probably.

This is your thread, so it's probably better if I start a new thread when I get that far? We'll see. :D

Thanks for the tip on Andrew's PP45 thread.
I'll go and check it out.

Max, I have been fooling around with SE amps for a while, but the thought of going PP have been in the back of my head for a while. Only been serious about the PP amp since last autumn, though. Since it's a midrange amp I don't need much power, only 10-15 watts or so. The plan so far is a small SE s...

Hi Max, all

Just finished reading this thread.
Very interesting, as I am in the
"slowly-designing-and-getting-parts"
stage of a low watt PP 211 midrange amp.

cheers,
Jan

The Ronnie Scott's DVD is pretty good, to put it mildy.

And Jeff has his best backing band ever,
with Jason, Tal and Vinnie.

Hello everyone!

Just discovered this place today.

My name is Jan, I live in Norway

I know some of you from other forums
so it's nice to be here.
