So as I was cruising the motorways of Yorkshire this morning ejoying the quietness because of all the snow we've had for the last few days or so I started thinking about how one might trace the curves. I seem to remeber our Dave doing this a couple of years ago and having a lot of fun. Presumably I'...

Thanks for trying Ed :-). I'll PM my email address for the RCA datasheet though as I haven't found that one.

If all the splurge is accepted and the STW meets it's environmental consent standard then it should in theory be fit to drink? But rarely, if ever, is. Don't know what the stats are now but 20 years ago London tap water had been through 11 people before the lucky drinker... Gives me a warm feeling :)

Had a trawl of t'internet looking for some but haven't been successful. Did find a number of people asking around though ;-). Anybody found any, or even measured them?

Interesting. Can't say I noticed any difference when I switched to a Duet from a SB3, I should try comparing them both. Suppose it should be possible to set them up side by side playing the same track at pretty much the same time.

Hmm, for example: GK13A Filament voltage 6.5V Filament current 350 - 400A Output power 30kW/100kW Maximum anode voltage 11kV These GM70s are a bit puny aren't they? Go on Nick, you know you want to. Why mess about with something "trivial" like an 833 when there's proper valves to be playi...

O/P is a 300B, not 2A3 :D 5k means less distortion, albeit with less power I grant you. If he doesn't want to run it higher than 50mA, as I do as well, that's about it really. Yeah, I'm running my KRs with ~5k, but at 350V and 80mA. And I'm pretty sure I can hear less distortion than 2.5k (I'll bel...

Can't really see the circuit the way I'm viewing at the moment but the first thing that strikes me is that with a 5k OPT you're probably looking at 4W output rather than 8W. Which you can just about get from a 2A3.

Where to start? 300B in A1 should give you 8W, whether you'd notice that much difference over a 2A3 I don't know. I've been playing with 26 10Y IT 300B for the last 18 months or so (very slowly). It's been very interesting and does some very nice things, but driver filaments aren't for the faint hea...
