Please tell me about the mains Tx and those silver lams. What's the history of the clone? Was it a completely independent build project. Are the transformers from SP wound?

I know, questions, questions etc but I would be interested in it's history. Tell me now or I'll pester you at Owston

Hi David,

Yes, you are right, but actually I can't be bothered to search the company out, especially as they did the dirty on Darren and Slatedeck and marketed seperately.

I think my quest has been found with Slateage.

Regards,

Greg

I've got at least 2 possibly 3 Classic Records so called Audiophile pressings. They all have flaws which I've never been happy with. Mainly intermitent and periodic loud surface noise like there's crap in the groove. I've cleaned on Okki Nokki to no effect. I now avoid Classic Records.

I also use C(rap) Cleaner and have the latest version and always use it when I do maintainance. I am however convinced having followed Mike's instructions for a more in depth use of MS Disc Clean Up I have overall better performance. Time will tell. Previously I found using CCleaner, Disc clean up a...

Slate plinth option for Garrard

Regardless of the demise of Slatedeck, I am aware there is a company doing Slate plinths for Garrard turntables. I know about http://www.slateage.com/ I'm not talking about this company. There is another which has an online page but for the life of me I can't find it. It might even be the company th...

Hi Mike,

That's brilliant, thank you. I've always used disc clean up for general maintainance but not to the level you've now guided me to. My PC has now speeded up big style and I'm very much appreciative of your help. I'll buy you a pint of the very best at Owston :D

Best wishes,

Greg
