I've had spates of odd noises that I think were VR tube derived. They seem to vanish if I wiggle them and the other valves in their bases it seems to stop, I haven't had any problems with it for yonks and yonks. Taking out the zobel changed the freq of the oscillation but didn't cure it in my case. ...
